Summer Holiday Fun in Battersea Park
Sporting activities in Battersea Park during the school summer holidays will be once again available for children and young people, thanks to a local crime busting charity.
With the support and efforts of the Battersea Crime Prevention Panel's Summer Scheme and generous sponsorship and support from a range of local companies and organisations, including the council, Met Police and the army, young people aged between 8 and 16 can enjoy a range of activities from Tuesday, July 30 to Friday, August 2,
The sporting attractions include football, tennis, judo, archery, tag rugby, rowing and boxing, the cleaners in Battersea said.
On Thursday, August 1, Olympic stars Linford Christie and Darren Campbell will be organizing a street athletics tournament, which will be one of the highlights of the event. The tournament will consisting of a series of 60m races for each age group. The winners will directly qualify for the National Finals in Manchester in September.
